Located in Northern New York along the Black River, the Village of West Carthage was incorporated in 1889.  Originally a paper mill village, we are now home to a variety of enterprises including retail stores, manufacturing, tourism and many small businesses.  Nearby Fort Drum contributes a great deal to the local economy and the village boasts a healthy real estate market.  The Thousand Island Region of New York State is minutes away and we are but a short drive to the Adirondack Park.  The nearest city is Watertown (18 miles) with a growing population and booming retail market.

The Village of West Carthage retains it’s small village appeal while welcoming and encouraging economic growth.  Please stop to see us!
