RUTLAND FIRE DEPARTMENT

The Rutland Fire Department covers the central part of the Town along NYS Routes 12 and 126. They operate under the authority of the Fire District and answer all emergency calls including first responder calls with Guilfoyle and Black River ambulances. The department was founded in 1957.

The Fire Hall is located on NYS Route 126 near the Municipal Building. Monthly meetings are held at 7pm on the 2nd Monday of each month. The firefighters hold an annual auction and several chicken barbeques throughout the year.

Volunteers are always needed who can commit the necessary time to help their fellow citizens in their time of need. You can leave a message at the department by calling 788-1498 to get more information on becoming a member or any of the scheduled events.
