The Town of Champion Town Board met in special session on Tuesday, December 31, 2002 to conduct year end business. Present were Supervisor Buckley, Councilmen Stewart and Watkins, and Highway Superintendent Sech. Councilmen Buzzell and Peck were absent.
Supervisor Buckley called the meeting to order at 9:30AM. Motion by Mr. Stewart, seconded by Mr. Watkins to pay the following bills as presented:

The Board discussed the proposed 2004/05 NYS Snow and Ice Agreement Extension. Motion by Mr. Stewart, seconded by Mr. Watkins to approve the extension as presented. Ayes-3, Nays-0. Motion carried.
Highway Superintendent Sech reported on the status of specific equipment. Mr. Sech recommended replacing the motor in truck #665 with a factory reconditioned motor at a cost not to exceed $8,081. The motor would be warrantied for one year. Motion by Mr. Stewart, seconded by Mr. Watkins to approve the purchase as recommended. Ayes-3, Nays-0. Motion carried.
Supervisor Buckley reported that he has been contacted by a property owner with property contiguous to the Town Barn relative to the Town's interest in purchasing a parcel. The Supervisor had no information as to the asking price. The Board, by consensus, authorized the Supervisor to continue discussions.
Supervisor Buckley reported that tax parcel 86.48-2-18 located on Liberty Street has been offered to the Town at no cost by the owner. Board members discussed the offer but being able to define no feasible use for the property by the Town declined the offer.
Motion by Mr. Stewart, seconded by Mr. Watkins to adjourn. The meeting adjourned at 10:23AM.
