The Champion Town Board met in special session Tuesday, October 26, 1999 at 3:00PM for the purpose of discussing a significant increase in the cost of health insurance and its affect on the 2000 budget. Present were Supervisor Buckley, Councilmen Miller, Watkins, and Stewart, and James Yuhas.

Supervisor Buckley reported that the North County Town & Village Health Insurance premium on Plan C will increase 22.23% beginning January 1, 2000.

The Supervisor distributed budget information indicating that an increase of $.30 per $1000 of assessment Townwide would be necessary if appropriations remain at proposed levels. Board members proposed reducing account DA5130.2 to $10,000 and account A1620.2 to $15,000 to avoid any tax increase in Townwide.

The Board discussed the impact of Champion Fire District #1 on the proposed rate to residents in the Champion Fire Protection District. An increase of $.26 to the rate will be necessary to maintain current funding levels.

Motion by Mr. Stewart, seconded by Mr. Miller to adjourn. Ayes-4, Nays-0. Motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 4:56PM.
