The Champion Town Board met in special session Wednesday, December 30, 1998 at the Town Municipal Office. Present were Supervisor Buckley, Councilmen Miller, Buzzell and Stewart, Highway Superintendent Martin and James Yuhas. Councilman Watkins was absent from the meeting.

Supervisor Buckley called the meeting to order at 9:14am. The abstracts of the year end bills were read. The Board discussed the cost of trash disposal and considered options for lowering the disposal costs. It was the consensus of the Board to consider the question at a later meeting.

Motion by Mr. Stewart, seconded by Mr. Miller to pay the following bills:

Motion by Mr. Miller, seconded by Mr. Buzzell to approve the budget transfers as presented (see attached). Ayes-4, Nays-0. Motion carried.

Supervisor Buckley presented an intermunicipal agreement between the Towns of Champion and Rutland to allow the Town of Champion to construct sewer lines along NYS Route 3 to the Black River bridge crossing in the Town of Rutland to facilitate the Champion Sewer District #1 project. Motion by Mr. Stewart, seconded by Mr. Buzzell to authorize the Supervisor to sign the agreement. Ayes-4, Nays-0. Motion carried.

The following sealed bids were received for the purchase of fuel for the needs of the Town of Champion and Wilna:

Motion by Mr. Miller, seconded by Mr. Stewart to accept the bids from Simpson Fuel contingent on acceptance by the Town of Wilna. *(Note: The Town of Wilna Town Board accepted the bid from Simpson Fuels at their meeting held on 12/30/98). Ayes-4, Nays-0. Motion carried.

Motion by Mr. Stewart, seconded by Mr. Buzzell to appoint the following to serve as commissioners for Champion Fire District #1 until elections are held in December 1999:
